Winters eve fest in Lincoln square

Art Journaling

I was told I needed to have a winter activity by a customer at my job. They said that is the only way you will survive winter here. I said well I hula hoop and the guy said that didn't count, I said ok how about ART journaling and he said that could work... well, it does. I know it is barely even what one could consider Winter. However, it is dark so early and some days are cold and rainy.... so I think the Winter feel is in the air. Luckily though, December will be fun regardless because of all the holiday festivities going on. But I am prepared and armed with a winter activity if I am kept indoors January....

The journal to the above is finished and I just purchased my second one below. Invest in a journal... it is such a great outlet and lots of fun tod and a great way to look back on memories.

The shelf in use ;)

Central Park & fun city finds

So... I went to Central Park on Sunday. It was around 65 degrees out... it wasn't as sunny as Saturday, but it was still a park kinda day. As you walk through the park there are tons of people walking around, playing games, running, bicycling and sitting on park benches. It is such a sight to see. The only time I really saw any of that in Florida was maybe at the beach, but event that's a stretch. The kids really play in the leaves and people actually throw frisbee and now being almost out of the touristy stage of a New Yorker... it's funny to see people pose on rocks for pics and what not. I get asked where things are all the time and that is when I realize I am still new. But it is fun and people just love to be outside when it is half-way decent. Anyways, so the 2 pics below are trees in the park... the 2nd one is also showing the buildings that were in the ghost busters movies. The last pic is the book shelf I scored on my walk home. It happened to be right outside my building... I love it and the universe gave it to me. I love this city...

Goals...

Lately, I have been on this kick about being in the right place, knowing what the next step is etc. and then I am looking through my notebook and I find this on the first page. Now as we all know and being a girl.... lose weight will generally always be on the list. However, that goal is more about hooping though... because if I am dedicated and hooping everyday like I should be then the rest will follow.

So, anyways, the point of this is that the second goal which is not always on my goal list, for the first year was, and it finally got accomplished. It's funny though that when one goal is accomplished we feel so little accomplishment. I am trying everyday to remind myself that I made a dream come true, which then was a goal and is now a reality. One of the few things in my life I have accomplished and I am barely giving myself credit because I should that much more ahead. But for now I am appreciating the fact that this goal is accomplished. Now for 2012......
